Electronic Pressure Measuring Transducers

So which measuring technology is best? Bonded foil sensing technology.

What makes foil strain gages continue to be popular is mainly their ruggedness. You can drop them on the floor or hit them with a hammer, and they will continue to operate. They are also relatively easy to manufacture without specialized equipment requirements. Full-bridge gage designs also simplify gage installation on typical circular diaphragms, and provide low temperature effects on zero and span.

The basic transduction principle is a diaphragm, which can be made of silicon, ceramic, or metal.  It is pressurized on one side and usable surface strains are produced and measured on the opposite side. Diaphragm design analysis: http://ow.ly/RmGtW
