Pressure Vessel Testing

The electrical resistance strain gage is virtually insensitive to pressure applied normal to the plane of the installed gage, even in high-pressure environments.  Research suggests that the strain gage produces approximately -5 µɛ to -7 µɛ per each 1000 psi of pressure, making it ideally suited for pressure vessel testing.  Keep in mind that we assume the strain gage is intimately bonded to the surface and free of voids.
